Hi,

today Java 7 was made available for download from Oracle/Sun.

We did a rough check of our client, results are:

(.) NO problems with all Java-components.
(.) There seems to be a problem when embedding native components via BROWSER or ACTIVEX components - they properly start up etc., but: when a native component is active, then the keyboard input on normal fields seems to be blocked.

Consequence: if you use BROWSER and/or ACTIVEX components - do not immediately upgrade to Java 7. We are currently checking the issue.

Björn

...when working with BROWSER/ACTIVEX: if tabbing out of the field and tabbing back in, then keyboard input works just as normal - only seems to be the first field...

Hi,

we now found a way to bypass the problem, so that things should be OK. Our examples all are working fine again, now. Next Monday's update contains the corresponding change.

Hi,

not "formally" - we internally use Java 7 on server side as well + did not find any problems yet. In general the server side is "much more relaxed" than the client side...

I can confirm that it also works with Java 7.
So far we haven't found any problems...

Kind regards
Daniel
