Is there another way as to map the actionlistener to a global method in the bean and to check within the mehtod which row is selected?

I want some kind of button to create sub items in treenode item within a fixgrid?

Hi,

yes, cou can directly e.g. position the button in the grid item: then the action listener is called on the corresponding row. In this case the action listener is defined in "within-a-gridrow-style": ".{onWhatever}"
